Story

As a child growing up in Sweden, I had a very positive dental experience. My dentist was a caring and trusted member of our small, tight knit community. Parents felt safe sending their children to see her on their own. I have a distinct memory of sitting in the dental chair and staring up at the intricate painting covering the ceiling. I was always looking around, curious to know how the x-rays worked and what all the equipment did. The pleasant experience and memories with my dentist was the reason I pursued dentistry.

Following my graduation from dental school at UBC, I worked at a large dental office for several years. I had great mentors there and I was able to grow my skills in dentistry. I found dentistry fulfilling as it allowed me to work with my hands and integrate some of my passion for art.

In 2012, we opened Heavenly Dental. The building we are in now was an empty shell, so my team and I designed it ourselves. Since then, our practice has grown primarily from word-of-mouth referrals.

At Heavenly Dental, we want to serve families well through genuine dental care and dental education. When I see a patient, I treat them as if they are a family member.

Knowing that many people feel nervous when visiting the dentist, we’ve designed our facility to be warm, relaxing, and fun. There are TV’s above the dental chairs, along with an X-box and free wifi in the waiting room. My team at Heavenly Dental is caring and kind. They are great at helping people feel comfortable and relaxed.

Dental education is an important part of our work. We take time to help our patients understand how their oral health impacts their overall health. Then we work with our patients to find simple ways they can take care of their teeth, preventing cavities in the future.

Our patients are an extended part of our community. We really enjoy seeing them and especially watching the kids grow up.

We look forward to having you become a part of our dental family so we can provide you with great dental care and create new friendships!
