Til what age should you brush your children’s teeth?

For as long as they’ll let you I’d wanna say.

🙇🏻‍♀️ Brushing is difficult, and most kids don’t have the patience to brush for a full two minutes and get all the surfaces of their teeth cleaned. Heck most adults don’t even do that. If brushing is a difficult task then flossing definitely is a major challenge. .
👧🏻 My daughter is 9 and up until a few months ago I was strictly brushing and flossing her teeth every day. A few months ago she just decided that she is ready to do that on her own. Of course I praised it and welcomed it but I made sure that after she’s done I go and do my clean sweep around and make sure I get the areas that she missed (cuz let’s face it there are areas that will definitely be missed). I ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS do the flossing. It’s like OUR routine. ✅Alternatively you can use floss picks. They are kid friendly and gets the job done ✅!

✅ I do encourage self growth and self development and I do let her brush on her own but at the same time I do NOT want to have her in my dental chair more than I need to for her cleanings and If she somewhere along the way needs something then her dad will have to fix it lol. ☀️This post is not to discourage you, in fact it’s to motivate and encourage you to create that bonding moment with your kids. I know lots of people have more than one child 👧🏼🧑🏼👧🏻🧑🏻and before bedtime all parents are exhausted but anything you can do is honestly better than nothing. Life is busy, I get it we all are busy in one way or another but these are the little things we can do to help them to develop better oral health habits. 👩🏻‍⚕️ So I encourage you to help them even if it’s once a week. Do it for the kids 🧑🏻👧🏻. It will benefit them a lot. Trust me.
